Steam Winter Sale 2022 Is Finally Here! Check Out My Picks For The Holidays!

It's that time of year again and the steam winter sale has officially begun! As you have all come to learn, this is the second biggest deal of the year for all steam users. The winter sale's and summer sale's release all the biggest and greatest deals of the year! With that said, my picks for this year will be something special. I'm going to pick 2 games each budget range that I have personally played and enjoyed. However this is just my opinion and I heavily suggest looking into the sale yourself. I'm also going to try and give you some budget options for those of you less than fortunate so you can still pick you, a friend or family member a nice treat! Let the sales BEGIN!

Budget Games for $5 or Less

To kick things off we're going to mention two of my favorite games that are dirt cheap during the winter sale.  Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is in my top 20 favorite games of all time list and there's no wonders as to why. Developed by Bioware this game is a fan favorite in the roleplaying games genre for it's multiple choices, endings and character builds. It's a bit dated and hasn't aged that well but if you can get past the oldschool gameplay you're in for a awesome treat! During the winter sale it's only $3.49! As a honorable mention to that, consider picking up Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2! It's the same price and more or less the same experience. Once you're hooked on the first game in the series, you'll want more!

The second game in the $5 or less category is one of a huge fan favorite and also still in the Star Wars universe. That's right, I'm talking about Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order which is a fantastic linear based-sudo open world roleplaying game made by Respawn Entertainment. It's a souls-like experience where you take the role of a young jedi padawan named Cal Kestis and go on a expansive journey rediscovering yourself during the early years of the empires reign. It has fantastic combat and whilst a tad clunky it's quite fun. You can play it now and experience the full story for just $4.79 right on time for its sequel Star Wars: Jedi Survivor coming next year.

I know some of you might feel cheated because I chose two Star Wars games for the under $5 or less category which is why I have some under-appreciated games and varying games of different genre's listed at the bottom of the webpage! Be sure to check out those honorable mentions!

$10 Or Less

For all you gamers who have a lot more money to spend but are still on a tight budget let me introduce you to the world of cheap, newer-ish games that are still widely dirt cheap. Starting with a fan favorite, Kingdom: Come Deliverance Royal Edition, is one of the best roleplaying games coming in at $9.99 for the best version of the game that comes with all the DLC expansions and the base game. It's a remarkable roleplaying game that is true to real life and historically accurate! It features a lot of game systems ripped straight from some of Obsidian Entertainment's best games such as Oblivion and Fallout New Vegas! Now we've talked about RPG's a lot more than I'd like to, so let's introduce a different genre for our second game which happens to be Dying Light, being one of my favorite games of all time is comes to no surprise how much I love to talk about it. Dying Light is a zombie survival game similar to other games of its genre such as the Dead Island franchise. It's a nice story focused game with a rich combat system that's still adored to this day!

$20 Or Less

At $20 Or Less we're getting a lot more options for amazing games at cheap prices! Whilst no longer being quite dirt cheap these games are still significantly cheaper than prior to the sale. Staring off with a very popular game that has been cut down from $59.99 to a measly $19.79 we have Red Dead Redemption 2! Being the pre-sequel to one of the best cowboy games of all time and critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption! In this game you play as Arthur Morgan, a badass outlaw on the run from the Pinkerton's, a group within the government tasked with tracking down the criminal outlaw gang he's apart of. You can expect a lot of rootin', tootin' gunslingin' badassery, a deep story and loads of interesting personalities! In this gritty western. Now let's break away from the badassery to experience a game for more cozy folks. Just kidding because in this next game you take on the guise of a cult leader. We have Cult of the Lamb coming in at $18.74, you take the role of a cult leader that's trying to appease his deity by creating a helpful community of cultists that periodically sacrifice each other for ill-gotten gains! You can expect a mostly cozy experience.. until Suzie is ready to be sacrificed and you have a tough choice to make... goodluck!

$30 Or Less

Alright, we're through the bulk of the cheaper games and now onto the way more modern games away from the classics! Starting us off we have one of the most fun survival games I have ever experienced, unless you're an arachnophobe or have less than $26.79. That's right I'm talking about Grounded the critically acclaimed 80's themed survival game that allows us to live in our Honey, I Shrunk The Kids fantasies until you remember there's spiders.. lots and lots of spiders, all of which want to eat you, or just kill you for sport or you just happen to.. getting sidetracked here. This game is amazing, has a fun story and a pretty good combat system. All around a great game to solo and a very fun game to co-op! It's also cross-platform between Xbox and PC! Now while survival games and roleplaying games are quite fun to experience, nothing can beat a good indie game with a huge heart for animals and visual storytelling in a cyberpunk world about a lone Cat that became stranded from its family and friends and goes on a journey to escape from the slums. Stray is a very fun and niche game that allows you to play as a cat that goes on a big adventure to save a slum full of robots that has been taken over by biologically engineered robots. If you pickup this game for its fair price tag of $23.99 then I would highly suggest you take a look at the nexus mods page since there's tons of mods that retextures the cat model as various small animals, different fur patterns, etc. You may even get to play as your own cat from home!

$50 Or Less

and lastly we're finally at the end. What sorts of games can you get for $50 Or Less? Surprisingly plenty and whilst these deals aren't the best some can be deluxe editions for games that give you all the dlc expansions, bonus content such as soundtracks, etc. To start off it won game of the year at the game awards this year, Elden Ring.. what is there to say about Elden Ring other than if you liked Dark Souls, Sekiro, Demon's Souls or Bloodborne.. you'll probably love Elden Ring. For the first time in a official souls game you can now explore a fully open world that has RICH story content, very fun gameplay and the evolutionary (joking) JUMP mechanic. There's tons to do, lots of dungeons to delve, bosses to slay and waifu's to fantasize over before they meet a grizzly end. Just remember to go outside every once and a while and touch the grass, who knows you may even find a maiden! For $41.99 you can experience this great game. Now the final game that I'm going to showcase to you before offering you lot the direct link to search for any game you want on steam by the price, I present to you, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered at a whopping $44.99 you can see what it really FEELS like to be Spider-Man, memes aside it's a fantastic game that runs great, has full RTX support along with DLSS and FSR. It's exactly what you would want from a Spider-Man game and encompasses all the bells and whistles you would come to expect as a fan of the comics, movies and of course the many games.
