I'm returning soon! - 3/26/2024

It's been awhile.. I've been gone for quite awhile. I've been focusing hard on my mental health (and also a bit lazy) so I'm planning on making my return soon. I have a few games I want to do reviews on that I've played recently and do some written guides for as well. I've been playing A LOT of Helldivers 2 recently along with Bloodborne. So expect some guides for those. I've also been playing a lot of the newer releases from this year and will have reviews out for them soon. I'm also playing through a bunch of older games and plan on doing reviews for those as well. Such as the Batman Arkham Trilogy.  I want to talk on some politics in the gaming industry too at some point. Such as Sweet Baby Inc at some point in the near future. Point is, I will be returning here soon. I've already drafted a review of a very recent game, some of you might of heard of it. Tootles!

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor Review! (PS5, No Major Spoilers)

The Middleman's Opinion Presents: Star Wars: Jedi Survivor Review! (PS5, No Major Spoilers) Performance: Considering the game has had most of its criticism focused on the performance, I decided to discuss this first. It's no shock at this point that a lot of AAA games are releasing in broken PC ports and it's very sad to see. The PC performance leaves a lot to be desired and needs a lot of work. On PS5 however the performance is fairly inconsistent but at the least playable. Most of the time you will be at around 45-50fps, mainly in the open planetary areas such as free roam on your second planet, or in scenes where there's a lot of effects happening at once such as the tutorial levels. EA & Respawn have came out and stated there will be many patches in the coming weeks to fix these issues so it's all we have to go on. In the more linear and smaller more closed off areas run at a steady 60fps without any issues. Fortunately PS5 doesn't seem to suffer from

Tron Identity: A Fun Visual Novel That's Too Short

Image
The Middleman's Opinion Presents: Tron Identity: A Fun Visual Novel That's Too Short   The Good: Tron Identity is a unique noir-style crime investigation game that takes place in the Tron universe. It's a soft-sequel to Tron Legacy in the sense that it takes place sometime after the events of the current movies. Possibly as a prelude to the new Tron movie coming out sometime soon, Tron: Ares.  What makes this game so fun is that the dialogue is crisp and grounded in realism. The conversations truly captures that Tron itch I've been longing for so many years. Not to mention the art-style is nothing short of amazing! It even has some nice lore tid-bits through the in-game codex system.  Overall the story itself is rather good and it even has twists and turns for certain characters that you need to watch out for. My playthrough I only ever killed one person and they were kind of asking for it to be honest. Once you figure out the end game of the story and realize what ac

How To Unlock The Handcannon In Resident Evil 4: Remake - A Guide For Casuals

The Middleman's Opinion Presents:   How To Unlock The Handcannon In Resident Evil 4: Remake - A Guide For Casuals   It's Easier Than You Think! Thanks to The Mercenaries being released it's now extremely easy to unlock the Handcannon in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Where as prior you had to unlock the Handcannon through playing on a New Game, Professional without any bonus weapons being used. You now only need to get a S ranking on all three maps in The Mercenaries. This is incredibly easy to do and only takes around 30 minutes to complete using even just Leon on all three maps. However there is a very easy method to getting a S rank guaranteed.  All You Need Is Hunk!  By getting a A rank on each character, you unlock the next character. So all you need to do is get a A rank on Leon, Luis and Krauser, on any map of your choosing. This is easiest to do on the Village map. The best strategy to getting A rank's (and even S++) is to go around the entire map breaking the green ti

Resident Evil 4 Remake: A Genre Defining Remake [UPDATED 4/7/2023]

Image
The Middleman's Opinion Presents: Resident Evil 4 Remake: A Genre Defining Remake What Actually Makes A Remake A Remake? I find myself asking this question when I'm buying a remake for a game I've greatly enjoyed for years. What actually is a remake? Is it the idea of essentially making the same exact game but from scratch with new textures, models, etc? or is it actually rebuilding the world? Resident Evil 4 Remake is a game I held high expectations for after seeing how not so great Resident Evil 3's remake was handled. Especially considering that Resident Evil 2 Remake was a damn near masterpiece that truly modernized it's predecessor for a newer more action focused audience whilst keeping the survival horror elements. Personally I believe a remake should have two major things that makes it a remake. It must fully recreate the world whilst maintaining the same atmosphere, or furthermore expanding upon the original vision whilst recreating the concepts for

Going On A Mental Health Break

The Middleman's Opinion  Presents: Going On A Mental Health Break   I never expected to be writing this. However after going through some personal issues that caused me a lot of pain. I have decided it's time for me to push forward once again and brave this deep dark depressive storm instead of wallowing away praying everything gets better. What does this mean for The Middleman's Opinion? It means you won't be seeing any articles coming from here for awhile while I traverse this journey.
